BILLY AND DAWN RAY
Billy Ray and his wife, Dawn, have lived and worked in the Middle East for over 15 years. In 2008, they moved to Iraq to pioneer work for World Orphans. In 2010 they made they moved to Soran, Iraq—two hours northeast of Kurdistan's capital city of Erbil. Before the 2014 arrival of ISIS in the region, the Rays were involved with various projects focused on widows and orphans. Since then, they expanded their focus to include helping the increasing numbers of displaced people in and around Soran. Billy, Dawn, and their three sons love exploring the mountains and rivers of Kurdistan where they often picnic with their Kurdish friends.
Billy directs and overseas projects and the broader work of TRI.
TIM AND SARAH BUXTON
ASSISTANT COUNTRY DIRECTOR
Tim Buxton moved to Iraq in 2014 with Sarah, his wife of nine years, and their three children. Prior to Iraq, Tim moved from Australia to New York and worked nine years for Times Square Church as the director of international projects and short-term trips. Both Tim and Sarah have lifelong international experience. Now together in Kurdistan, they are helping meet the needs of refugees and the displaced in the region.
In addition to managing the small staff, Tim oversees the development of the programs TRI impelements.
